Rimini

RIMINI - SEAVIEW PROPERTY FOR SALE

Founded by the Romans at the mouth of the river Ariminum (today Marecchia), the city of Rimini became a thriving commercial hub for naval traffic in the Adriatic Sea. With the fall of Rome the city went through a period of crisis until the Byzantine conquest, which established the Pentapolis (Rimini, Pesaro, Fano, Senigallia and Ancona) under Ravenna. In 756 Pepin III the Short gifted the conquered territories to the Church. Declared itself a free municipality of the 12th century, the city went through a period of instability (due to the struggles between the Guelphs and Ghibellines) that ended in 1248 with the arrival of the Malatesta family to the head of the Guelphs. The powerful family maintained control of the city until 1509, the year of Sigismund II's death. The State of the Church then took control of the city and maintained it almost uninterruptedly until 1860, the year in which the citizens voted in favor of the annexation to the Kingdom of Italy.

With a history that covers almost twenty-two centuries, Rimini presents an artistic heritage among the richest and most varied of Italy. Relevant monuments are the Arch of Augustus, the Tempio Malatestiano, the Church of Sant'Agostino, Palazzo dell'Arengo and Castel Sigismondo.

In this city full of charm and history, Romolini Immobiliare offers a selection of sea view apartments, luxury villas for sale in the historic center and manor houses for sale.
